Poughkeepsie Man Driving Stolen Car With Child Aboard Faces Drug Charges

A Poughkeepsie man was arrested for threatening to beat up a woman whose car he stole and for having a wanted juvenile in the vehicle when caught, according to Town of Lloyd Police.

Shyron N. Williams, 29, was nabbed on Thursday, March 22, by Lloyd Police operating the vehicle on Route 44/55 in Highland and was in the company of a 15-year-old juvenile, said Lt. James Janso.

"Williams threatened to beat up the woman if she reported he had taken the car to police," Janso said. 

The male juvenile in the vehicle had a warrant out of family court and was in possession of marijuana, he added. 

Williams was charged with felony grand larceny, felony criminal possession of stolen property, felony intimidating a witness, endangering the welfare of a child, criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was also on probation in Dutchess County for criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

He was arraigned and is being held without bail.
